Free, any hour. Someone is ready to listen.
If you are thinking about ending your life, or about hurting yourself — please call one of these now. Not later, and not once things get worse. That is exactly what these lines are for, and the person answering will be glad you rang.
You don't need to be in crisis to call. "I'm having a bad night and I don't want to be alone with it" is a completely good reason.
If you or someone near you is in immediate physical danger, call your local emergency number instead.
A friend, a parent, a partner, anyone. You don't need the right words — any of these is a complete sentence:
"I'm not doing great and I don't really want to be on my own right now."
"Can you stay on the phone with me for ten minutes?"
"I've been having panic attacks. I didn't want to say it out loud until now."
And if you'd like a doctor's help too, the opening sentence can be just as plain: "I've been struggling with anxiety and it's affecting my daily life. I'd like to talk about what help is available." That's enough — you don't have to prove anything or have it organised.
Supporting someone is draining too. The lines above will talk to you as well.
